The OPPO R7s has been announced at GITEX 2015 in Dubai, bringing the long-rumored smartphone to the market. The R7s features the same magnesium-aluminum alloy metal unibody design as the R7 series along with a 5.5-inch, AMOLED 2.5D display (resolution unknown) with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 (the latest in display panel tech), an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM with a 128GB microSD card slot for expandable storage, an 8MP front camera with OPPO’s Screen Flash, 13MP back camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), 0.1-second fast focus, and stable imaging, a 3,070mAh battery that features VOOC Flash Charge fast charging that lets you charge 90% of the battery in just 50 minutes.

The OPPO R7s also comes with dual-SIM slots, allowing you to use the carrier services you choose to use when you need them. OPPO says that its own battery tests show that the OPPO R7s lasted for 13 hours and 15 minutes; moderate and light usage will stretch the battery to more than a day, easily.
As for the the pre-installed Android update out of the box, you’re looking at Android 5.1 Lollipop with OPPOs ColorOS 2.1 overlay installed. ColorOS 2.1 has improvements in booting and battery life which should help you extend the 3,070mAh battery beyond 24 hours. There is no word on price yet, but OPPO says that it will offer the device in November to Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and MENA regions. European and American buyers will get their chance to purchase the device in December.
All in all, the OPPO R7s looks to make as much of an impression as the R7 series has on consumers. What do you think?
Dear oppo, you can keep your extra ram and I’ll gladly keep 450-500$ you will require for this, buying something with better soc at lower price instead.
Sincerely, someone who will most likely never buy your overpriced midrangers.
I guess OPPO thinks there are a lot of dummies who will buy their smartphones.
They don’t think that, they know there are a lot of people who will buy their phones. I wouldn’t buy it because of the choice of SoC, not so much because of the price.
Bad SoC, and I’d they keep their prices sky high I can’t understand their objective.. But otherwise interesting smartphone
Nice features, especially the back cover made with Maalox®.
