MIUI 7 Global ROM (stable build) rollout starting 27th October

It’s been a while since Xiaomi first showcased MIUI 7, but the newest iteration of the Android fork will soon be made available to everyone.

The rollout is expected to start 27th October for Xiaomi users worldwide. This is, of course, going to be the ‘Global’ version of the ROM, and the stable channel. Xiaomi offer a beta channel for anyone who is OK with a few bugs here and there… which effectively turns you into a beta tester for Xiaomi.

The list of supported devices hasn’t been published as yet (keep an eye here for updates). Xiaomi say that all supported devices will get OTAs, but if you’re impatient, you can head over to the MIUI downloads page and manually flash MIUI 7.

If you’re in China (or on the Chinese MIUI ROM elsewhere), you’ll be getting the Chinese version of the ROM which lacks Google services and a few other things.

well,i did not expect it before 2016. so this is suprice from Xiaomi. they usauly anounce update, and then user must wait 6 months….so, just 2 and half months after anouncement is very good time for Mi team.
i just hope it won’t be full of bugs, as all their builds…which is expected from user to be teaters, developers and have much, much patience

Just received mine from geekbuying yesterday and they added annoying popup adware and bloatware. Will an OTA update remove these or should i just already install another rom through recovery and wipe data? Thanks for your reply.

You could simply reset the phone (if the bloatware isn’t installed in the root directory).

No more popup ads, thats something, but only 548 mb ram free and under here a picture of my second screen with the undeletable bloatware… my reseller flashed an altered rom, no? They surely did as when i started my Phone for the first time i was right on the home screen…

Yup, that looks like bloatware to me. What you can do is: a. Try getting the ROM .zip online (shouldn’t be difficult) or b. Switch to the beta channel which should allow you to gain roor privileges and then use something like ES File explorer (in root mode) to remove the bloatware APK files.

thanks yash. think i’ll just wait and see what the ota does in a week and otherwise just flash the stable miui 7 manually from recovery..

That is bloatware there. Go to en.miui.com and get right official rom for your phone. That removes those annoying software problems. When you just use OTA-update, it will keep your existing software, bloatware too, so waiting for official MIUI 7 is not a fix.
