ZUK Mobile has only been around for nine months (since its launch in January 2016), but the company is seeking to make its known near and far. The ZUK Z1 offers some compelling specs and features for the low price tag ($300), including a 4,100mAh battery, a 5.5-inch, IPS LCD screen with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080p, an 8MP front camera and 13MP back camera, as well as 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage – which makes the $300 price point all the more intriguing. ZUK has even added USB Type-C charging to the spec sheet of the ZUK Z1, which is just taking off in the United States with availability of the OnePlus 2 and Huawei Nexus 6P, among others. USB Type-C does bring fast charging, but it’s most famous for reverse charging other devices.
Gizchina News of the week
It is this ZUK in question, one that both Elephone and Lenovo have invested in, to the Middle East with a Dubai press conference scheduled for October 26th. The conference is said to include ZUK’s CMO as well as Cyanogen and Qualcomm executives. ZUK intends to bring the ZUK Z1 to the Middle East, expanding its international reach and doing what all companies do to gain international recognition.
ZUK is also said to be preparing the launch of its ZUK Z1 successor, the ZUK Z2 smartphone in Q1 2016, and rumors state that the ZUK Z2 will use Qualcomm’s high-end, octa-core Snapdragon 820 processor. It takes a lot of time and effort to grow a company and create a distinct brand, and we wish ZUK a lot of luck in this endeavor.
