A few weeks back we talked about the Uhans U100, which was essentially a Vertu-like phone with a ‘luxury’ design but a price tag that’s more digestible. Today, there’s news of another Uhans — the U200.
In contrast to the U100, the Uhans U200 will actually be a phone with a rugged design (that’s what the company say, I’m under the impression that ‘rugged design’ also means ‘rugged in nature’) and mid-range specs.
For now, all we know is that the U200 will have a 5-inch display (of unspecified resolution), 2GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM (presumably expandable) with the popular MediaTek MT6735 processor and thus, 4G LTE support. The last detail we’re told about the phone has got to do with it’s battery, which we’re told will be 3500mAh in capacity.
The last couple of years have seen many rugged phone launches from up and coming Chinese OEMs. In fact, No. 1 are a company notorious for clones… they seem to have found a interest in rugged phones to an extent that they’ve almost stopped doing clones now. Some other companies including Oukitel are also showing interest in making rugged phones.
Have you ever bought a rugged phone, and would you consider brands like Uhans for your next?
