OnePlus will hold an event on the 29th October for a new smartphone that is rumoured to be called the OnePlus X, and already pricing details have been exposed in China.
Xiaomi and Meizu are the 2 brands which are fighting over the 1000 Yuan phone market. Xiaomi has it’s Redmi range of phones while Meizu has the Meilan models. It’s a fierce battle and one we we expected OnePlus to be joining later this week, but price leaks now say that this isn’t the case.
New images shared on social networks in China today show the OnePlus X, the slim 2.5D glass OnePlus phone, with a retail price of 1699 Yuan which equals roughly $268, or slightly less expensive than the base version of the OnePlus 2.
If this pricing is accurate then it shows that OnePlus aren’t interested in the entry-level market at this time and are instead hoping to offer a phone aimed at design conscious buyers.
Gizchina News of the week
While the OnePlus 2 is made to be the flagship with all the latest bells and whistles, the X has its emphasis on design with a slim alloy body, glass front and rear and slender 5-inch screen.
OnePlus X/Mini Rumoured Specifications
Rumour has it that the OnePlus X (or OnePlus Mini) will actually feature specifications similar to the original OnePlus One. The screen will have a resolution of 1920 x 1080, Qualcomm will provide the Snapdragon 801 running at 2.0Ghz,, and there will be 3GB RAM. Memory options will be 16GB or 32GB with the option to add an SD card while cameras will be an 8 mega-pixel front and 13 mega-pixel rear.
What do you make of the pricing? Are you ready for a OnePlus X in your life?
If they had stayed with cyanogenmod…
So you can give your S6 and get 2 oneX?
#NeverSettle f+cked up completely. I do remember when founder of the OnePlus promised a best phones with best specs and design to change the industry. Now OPO is avarage phone maker with no style and lots of pointless hype around
If you conside, that you can buy LG G Flex 2 for +- the same money (even in USA or Europe), it doesnt make any sense to buy this… I have Nubia Z7 mini and it costs me +-220 EURos one year ago…This has the same HW, but it costs even more…
Could not agree more… OnePlus was a one trick pony. Pricing and Design are crap
If Nubia had 800MHz LTE I would already get the Z9 mini. Unfortunately it doesn’t. LG G Flex 2 is 5,5″ (=too big).
The big advantage of OnePlus is the SW support it usually gets. I would not hesitate to pay $250 for it. But this seems a little too much.
