Hot-selling Honor 7 will get Android Marshmallow soon

huawei honor 7

The Huawei Honor 7 has been quite a hit, not only in its home country of China but also in almost every market it saw a launch.

If you’re an owner of this interesting phone, here’s some good news for you: the device will soon receive its first Android 6.0 Marshmallow build!

However, expect the ROM to have a few unpolished corners here and there. It’ll be a public beta, and is expected to be out in about four weeks from now, reports Android Central.

The Honor 7 comes with a 5.2-inch screen in a market that’s nothing short of flooded with 5.5-inch and larger screen phones. Perhaps that is something that has contributed to the success of the device; there are way too few phones doing that.

I briefly managed to spend some time with the phone a couple of weeks back, and quite liked how well it fit in the hands. It sure doesn’t look like a premium phone from a distance, but certainly is worth the money its being offered for.

Marsmallow is not a big deal. Yes, it is the newest Android but it isn’t very interesting since it doesn’t bring anything new.

It brings a lot of new and very important features. The most important are these:

      – app permisions
      – cloud backup of app settings
      – battery saving doze mode
      – improved SD card handling

There are others but these solve some very important problems in Android. I feel 6.0 as the best version after 4.0.

Well I’ve seen videos here and there about what is it like and while I do agree with you on those points, to me they are not worthy of a full number. Maybe android 5.5 or something but not the great deal. They do solve problems THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE but do not change the way android is being presented. It is in fact an update to Lollipop. That’s it.

You are true that these features should have been there for a long time. But they are very important.

But these are not all improvements in Android 6.0. There is much more. I just mentioned those which are most important for me personally.

If you think that marking the latest version with a new major release number is not right, what were the significant features of 5.0? There were even less improvements. A new design (I like the old) and return of SD slot support (which was removed in 4.4). That’s about it…

I was gonna order it today from their official European distributer Vmall.eu with a 50€ discount but the black version was never in stock. Instead of producing so many white phones from which there are plenty in stock (who wants a white phone?), why not change the production lines to produce more black Honor 7 ‘s which seem to be nowhere in stock … I really don’t get it.

It’s like that with Xiaomi (to mention one) too, The black color Mi Note looked awesome but it either was expensive or out of stock. Really sad, can’t they just ship half black units and half white in a batch?
