RAMOS launched their second smartphone of the year today and their first phablet device with high-end audio equipped.
Earlier this year RAMOS launched the MOS 1 smartphone, today it is the launch of the larger MOS 1 Max, a phablet device with similar design but high-end audio processors.
Pricing for the Mos 1 Max is 2799 Yuan in China, which is quite expensive in todays market and would normally suggest a high-end processor, but in this case the Max comes with a basic octacore MT6735 from Mediatek. In all honesty this is a fine processor, but the high price of the device really warrants something a little more potent.
Accompanying the octacore chipset is 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, 13 mega-pixel main camera, and 8 megapixel front. A 6.44-inch 1920 x 1080 2.5D glass panel means this RAMOS is a phablet and is only slightly smaller than some of the companies tablets. Although the phone looks like a bezel-less design it actually has black borders around the screen, also the navigation buttons are on-screen.
Features which have the phone around out from the rest of the crowd are the large 6010mAh battery, and ESS ES9018K2M audio decoder for professional audio HIFI sound and quality. Those are neat features, but it still doesn’t make the pricing any easier to swallow.
RAMOS are using their own ROM on the MAX based on Android 5.1, and either the ROM features a yellow background on the menu screens or this display is suffering terribly from screen yellowing.
