Elephone P9000 looks like a sandstone Vivo Xshot with laser focus in new renders

Elephone P9000

We have seen the Elephone P9000, octacore phone, in renders before, but the latest shows more details a familiar look and a laser AF unit.

If you were waiting for the Elephone Vowney, then you may want to hold off as the Elephone P9000 is already on the way and so far it looks better from a design and hardware point of view.

Renders of the P9000 had been supplied by Elephone before, but this new look at the rear shows a sandstone finish, a nod to the Vivo Xshot and a laser autofocus system similar to the OnePlus 2 and the Meizu MX5.

A second render shows the P9000’s bezel-less design (confirming that these images show the range topping device) and a fingerprint scanner on the side of the phone.

Personally I have seen enough Elephone phones over the years to know that renders and promises don’t always meet expectations but I am actually kind of looking forward to seeing the P9000 once it goes on sale.

P9000 Bezel-Less Side Fingerprint

According to Elephone sources the P9000 will release on the 20th December and come with a 5.5-inch display, 4GB RAM, 32GB memory, decacore octacore MT6755 chipset, NFC, 20.7 mega-pixel rear camera and even Android 6! Our insiders also tell us the P9000’s dimensions will be 148.5 x 73 x 8.5mm and that the phone will come with LTE support for U.S networks.

With that in mind, if you are in the United States and fancy an Elephone but not at the price of the P9000 then you can watch out for the upcoming P8000 with added US LTE support too. More details on exactly which bands will be released nearer to the launch date.

P9000 or Vowney? I know where my money would go.

Is Elephone that bad ? I’m looking to maybe get the Vowney but the more I read what people have to say about Elephone the more I am put off.

Well, P8000 is one of the best budge phones I’ve ever owned. Minor issues (all fixable), and an active community to boot.

People have many reasons to be critical about Elephone, which lets them overlook their good products. I say that you should wait and read a review or two before deciding on any individual product.

BTW the opposite is true too. I’ve been “duped” in the past by mediocre products from well-regarded companies. It’s possible for a “good” company to create a bad product and a “bad” company to create a good product.

        So -yeah- wait and see.

Stay away. They have yet to prove they can release a phone with no issues AND support that phone for more than a few months. There are better phones from better brands at the same price point.

I would be amazed if they can bring this out on December 20th. They are struggling with Android 5 on the Vowney, let alone A6. Elephone has had the Vowney prototype for half a year or more. Something is really wrong as why would a company be promoting the next product when they haven’t yet got out the last. It’s crazy and damaging for sales.

we have been telling you this since forever.
And that’s why i didn’t get all your expectations from this company.

Phones and price would be OK, but the company itself is something to be avoided for the reasons you mentioned above.

they really should focus on few good devices and get the best from them.

Jiayu makes 1 device a year, and they are always best selling.

No matter how much we warn them people here still fall into the Elephone trap.

I always look forward to the release of elephone’s devices.

But I don’t know if I would take another shot in buying one.

I had 3 Elephones so far and none of them convinced me. Two of them actually broke or passed out without warning.

You just stated above that your “insiders” is the official “sale page on the elephone shop”. Don’t you know never to mention who your insiders are? XD

I’m guessing maybe they will present the 3 phones at once like a mayor event or something to make a bog fuss about it on the Nov. 20th

If the VOWNEY came with all the spec’s they’ve said and on top they gave it Android 6 and released the source as they say they will with the P8000 then it becomes a no brained to me. ONLY THEN !!! 😉

The mistakes are starting to pile up, I love this site but it desperately needs an editor. Someone who doesn’t review phones are write his own articles because it is a full time job. Especially with this site growing larger everyday.

Proof reader / editor! I lurk here a lot, and have read a few articles where I’ve seen some very obvious mistakes. Still, doesn’t stop me absolutely loving gizchina! :p
