Xiaomi has managed to win hearts and markets in China, India and a few other countries in Asia. Demand for Xiaomi products outside of these markets continue to soar, despite competition coming up from every corner.
Continuing towards it’s global ambitions is Xiaomi, a company that’ll now be setting up shop in Africa. Two proven models in the Redmi 2 and the Mi 4 will be debuting for Xiaomi in Africa, albeit with the help of a distributor.
In tandem with Mobile in Africa Group, Xiaomi will be making available the Redmi 2 and the Mi 4 in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria, starting as soon as this month.
There’s on word on pricing and/or the sales model. Xiaomi sticks to offering its devices online-only in China, and up to a large extent, in India; but in Africa, the company is expected to leverage offline retail as well.
