Meizu revamped its flagship offerings a few weeks back when it launched the PRO 5. The phone is exceptionally powerful thanks to the Exynos 7420 (that also powers the likes of the Galaxy S6 edge, etc.), but is too large to handle for some because of the 5.7-inch screen.
If you thought along the same lines about the PRO 5, there might be some good news for you here. A smaller version of the PRO 5, aptly titled PRO 5 Mini just leaked according to a few media outlets. The PRO 5 Mini is expected to feature a 4.7-inch full HD display and the long-rumoured MediaTek MT6797 deca-core CPU, all while maintaining an attractive price tag.
Meizu traditionally haven’t been known for cheap phones, but the recent competition has meant that the company has had to rethink its policies. The MX5, for example, started at just 1799 Yuan ($290), which still is a good price to pay for the phone as far as I’m concerned.
The PRO 5 Mini, on the other hand, is expected to be a tad costlier at 1999 Yuan ($320), which is understandable given that it’s going to be higher-end in not just processing power, but also things like build quality, etc. when compared to the MX5. Needless to say, the PRO 5 Mini will feature an all-metal jacket when it does come out.
I’m quite liking what I’m hearing here. The MediaTek MT6795 has impressed one and all, which pegs a lot of expectation on the deca-core CPU scheduled to ship with the PRO 5 Mini.
