With the end of the year drawing closer, more phone makers are producing sub $100 phones make the most of recent hardware price cuts. Elephant’s is the Elephone Ivory and will launch at the end of November.
As with every year, prices for components have steadily dropped as product ramps up or new technology is launched. This gives manufacturers the chance to produce lower cost phones than it was possible at the start of the year.
Over the past few weeks we have seen UMi, Blackview, and Oukitel all announce phones that will cost less than $100, and now Elephone have turned up with details of their device.
Gizchina News of the week
Launching sometime at the end of November, the Elephone Ivory. The Ivory will sell for $99.99 (the same as the UMi Fair) and will come with a 5-inch 720p HD display, 2.5D on cell panel and feature an octacore Mediatek MT6753 chipset with LTE. The octacore chip is a surprise at this price, normally a quad-core is used.
Renders of the Elephone Ivory show a black phone with ELE logo, single LED flash and camera located top center on the rear of the device.
For the cost and what we know about the phone so far the Ivory is on par with other similar priced phones, but the battery size, amount of RAM and camera specifications will really tell us more about this upcoming budget device. Stay tuned for more details.
…and it really isn’t like elephone to have similar devices in similar price range released every month, is it? xD
well ye, but at least it seems like they wont to change that at least a bit for high end (more or less vowney for ~280 end of november and p9000c for about ~450 in december … probably delayed till march or so)
