OnePlus only started shipping the OnePlus X in a certain few markets, but the first OTA for the phone is already seeding.
The OTA is 160MB in size, and like any other update will be sent out in batches to avoid server overload. So if you haven’t received one on your OnePlus X yet, sit back and relax — it’ll come.
The OTA brings a few updates including home- and lock-screen wallpaper orientation fixes, camera HDR optimisation, battery optimisation in sleep state, etc.
Funnily enough, right after booting up since the OTA install I was greeted with another OTA notification (and a very hot phone), this time 17MB in size. My OnePlus X did heat up quite a bit the second time around too, but that was only during the OTA installation and first boot; things cooled down to normal after that.
It seems as though OnePlus mixed up with the the first OTA, which is why the second came on the trot. You can expect to receive only one with optimisations from both packages.
If you’ve bought your OnePlus X from China (and if it came with the Hydrogen OS), click here to find out how you can get Oxygen OS on the phone. Alternatively, if you’re still in two minds about the phone, head over to Andi’s first impressions of the phone.
