Huawei’s known to be in the works to launch the Mate 8, but surprise surprise, there’s another Kirin 950-powered beast coming from the Chinese phone maker’s camps.
The device — Huawei P9 Max — was found to have been listed on a benchmark database with the new HiSilicon SoC which has sent a chill down Samsung’s spine.
Gizchina News of the week
As the name will have told you already, the P9 Max is set to succeed the P8 from earlier this year. The ‘Max’ suffix also suggests that it’s an extension to a standard P9, the existence of which is pretty certain already.
Besides sporting the new Kirin 950, the P9 Max was found to have been listed with a 6.2-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 2K resolution and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The config allows the P9 Max to manage a respectable 73,759 points on AnTuTu.
Previous leaks have suggested that the P9 will have a dual-rear camera setup, and it is more than likely that the arrangement is carried forward to the P9 Max also.
