Wearables are certainly here to stay, but I’m still not entirely sold on the concept and even find my Android Wear devices to loose their novelty after time. Perhaps what I’m missing is SIM and call support on my wrist? (no, I don’t think so either).
Oukitel have taken the idea of a simple wearable and included room for the watches own SIM and ability to make phone calls without the need of a connected smartphone.
The A29 is compatible with Android and iOS devices, and along with the ability to make calls it will also count your steps, calories and pass notifications over to your wrist from a phone.
As I have said before, I still think a LTE connection would be more useable on a smartwatch and would mean that you could truly leave your phone at home at times. The A29 goes on sale this month and all cost just $69.99.
I have to say that I do like the design of their smartwatch. Something I could consider buying. I hope it will end up well made though.
Does anyone know if there are any smarwatches out there with built-in gps?
Thanks.
