Flyme is most famous for being the custom Android ROM of Meizu phones, but for the past few months Elephone has been tweaking the system to run on its devices, and the Elephone M2 will receive Flyme next.
There are a lot of similarities between the Elephone M2 and some of the Meizu range. They both have a full metal body, run up to 3GB RAM, come with Mediatek chipsets and both have a fingerprint scanner built-in to the physical home button.
It’s doubtful if those similarities helped speed up developement of Flume 4.5 for the Elephone M2 or not (many of the components are from different vendors), but regardless Flyme is making its way to the Elephone M2 in time for December.
Gizchina News of the week
Those of you who have, or plan to buy the all metal M2 will have the option to run Flume 4.5 based on Android 5.1 on your phone when it is released on November 30th. It might be worthwhile testing out too, as Flyme does have some rather nice features built-in including one of the best camera applications on the market.
