Ulefone pulled the sheets off the Ulefone Be Touch 3 which is based on the Be Touch 2 that was based on the original Be Touch. This has caused a bit of confusion with customers wondering what the differences are so here they are.
It’s not unusual for a phone maker to rehash a current model to extend its shelf life. In the past the refresh might have consisted of a little extra RAM, but now we see the same phone rereleased with a new chipset and other features.
Ulefone launched the first BeTouch phone at the start of this year. The phone’s design and build has remained unchanged through the BeTouch, BeTouch 2 and the new BeTouch 3, meaning each phone is based on a 5.5-inch display, a metal chassis, removable rear panel, and a front fingerprint under a physical button. The design is similar to the iPhone 6S Plus, but not so much that it looks like an out and out clone.
Gizchina News of the week
With the release of the Ulefone BeTouch 3, potential Ulefone owners are wondering what the difference between this new version and the older models, also BeTouch and BeTouch 2 owners are wondering if the new phone is worth the update. To make things easier take a look at the specification comparison table below.
Ulefone Betouch vs Ulefone Betouch 2 vs Ulefone Betouch 3
[table id=214 /]So what are the differences?
As you can see from the table the BeTouch 3 benefits from the update to FHD display (as did the BeTouch 2) but the processor has been switched out for a Mediatek MT6753 chipset, which should be better for battery life. Then again the battery size has been drastically reduced.
The BeTouch 3 is an odd ‘update’ and unless there is a significant price cut it will be a hard sell for anyone who already has the BeTouch 2. What do you make of the changes in the Betouch range over the past year? Is it time for Ulefone to release a new flagship?
Not at all a worthy upgrade. If I had the BeTouch 2, I wont even dream of buying this.
