Meitu are known for their beautification applications and also their smartphones with high resolution front cameras, and now they are offering a duo of external cameras one designed to look like a lipstick.
Meitu build phones with dual 21 mega-pixel cameras and enhanced beautification features, but what if you already have a phone and only want to benefit from Meitu’s advanced camera features? Well there are a couple of gadgets for that.
First up is the Meitu Snap1, a camera built to look like lipstick that comes with an easy snap on connection to attach to your current smartphone. The Snap1 might be small and a little odd looking, but the specs are impressive including a Sony IMX117 12 mega-pixel sensor, 8 stack lens and Ambarella A9 processor.
The compact 84.1 x 31.7 x 30.9mm camera can make time-lapse and record video of up to 4K @30fps. A dedicated application means you can live view photos and videos directly on your phone.
Gizchina News of the week
For those of you a little more serious about photography, the Meitu BF1 is a compact camera with its own built in screen and the option to use additional interchangeable lens which really opens up some serious possibilities.
Specs are a little higher up on the Meitu BF1 with a Sony IMX159 16 mega-pixel sensor, and ISO of up to 128000. With the built in screen you could use the BF1 on its own, but the same Meitu App will allow the use of the camera with a smartphone too.
These are rather interesting little devices, we just wonder now how much they will cost and how easily available they will be.
