At Xiaomi’s big year end launch, they announced the slim Mi Pad 2 tablet with an Intel processor that can run Windows 10. Keep reading for the first photos of the Windows version and more details.
When Xiaomi announced the Mi Pad 2 they were all about how much lighter and thinner that tablet is, the fact that it can run Windows 10 wasn’t really shouted about too much, which was a bit of a surprise.
Now, a day after the launch we learn a few more details about the Windows version of the Xiaomi tablet. Apparently the Mi Pad 2 with Windows will be available to purchase at an unspecified later date. The Windows version will come with 64GB as standard and will NOT run Android out of the box.

This is not to say that the Window’s version of the Mi Pad 2 cannot run Android (or vice versa for that matter) just that it will only support one operating system at a time. With this information now known we can stop hoping for a dual-boot Android/Windows tablet from Xiaomi, but it should also mean that anyone buying the Android version now should have the option to flash Windows at a later date.
