In the run up to the release of the Intel powered Mi Pad 2, Chinese tablet maker Cube weren’t all that impressed with the Xiaomi’s specs, and promised to release a ‘real’ flagship tablet of their own.
For 2016 Cube will release the Cube i9 tablet (an image of while is shown above) with a powerful new Intel Skylake chipset on the inside. The Skylake is a 6th gen processor that can offer some really potent performance and capable of improving battery life by as much as %30 in mobile devices.
From the image the tablet looks to be a larger device with a display of around 10.1-inch, which makes more sense than the 7.9-inch panel in the Intel powered Xiaomi Mi Pad 2

Cube Skylake Tablet
Cube will be keeping the rest of the Skylake tablet under wraps until nearer the final launch date, but already people in the know are speculating at what specs the device might have. Tablet site TechTablets suggests the falling hardware will live inside this slate beast:
- 4GB DDR3 RAM
- 64GB/128GB SSD
- LTE
- 1080p display with Wacom support
- Micro SD
We do like the look of these newer Windows tablets from China. For the money and hardware they are looking like good alternatives to the Microsoft Surface and even the iPad Pro. Let’s see what else 2016 has in store for us.
