It seems like there is only a few months between each Meizu phone launch, and that’s because there is. The phone maker is intent on launching more device and we could see their latest in early 2016.
This past year we have seen the release of the Meizu M2 note, Meizu M2, Meizu MX5, Meizu Metal and Meizu Pro. And those phones launched only a few months after the MX4, MX4 Pro, M1 and M1 note! That’s 9 phones in just over 12 months!
We might be making that a round 10 is rumours of the Meizu Pro 5 mini launch in early 2016 are correct!
Meizu Pro 5 Mini
Over on Weibo, Meizu boss Li Nan has stated that it ‘could’ be possible for his company to release a 4.7-inch all metal phone early next year with a price tag of around 2499 Yuan. From previous Li Nan Weibo posts we can say this is fairly good proof of an upcoming phone launch but we expect a price nearer to 1999 Yuan to be more accurate.
Gizchina News of the week
What’s interesting about the Pro 5 mini is that it would be a small screen phone. At 4.7-inch it would be a true ‘mini’ device and have 1-inch less screen real estate than then current flagship. It’s also interesting as the news of the mini comes at around the same time of news of a new smaller iPhone for next year, perhaps a trend we will see in the coming months?
Meizu Pro 5 Mini Specs
Insiders believe the Meizu Pro 5 mini will boasts a Mediatek Helio X20 processor, possibly the first to come with the latest Mediatek chipset, and will likely adopt a 1920 x 1080 display, and up to 4GB RAM.
If it gets a narrow design, fingerprint scanner and decent camera, the new Meizu could really be something to get excited about.
