The UMi Iron Pro, the fingerprint scanner equipped update of the original UMi Iron is now up for grabs in a competition over on the UMi Forums.
UMi have got together with a bunch of Android smartphone reviewers and have asked them to offer a short quote about the new UMi Iron Pro and suggest a price they think it is worth.
The idea is that users log in to UMi’s community, vote for their favourite reviewer quote and then add their own short sentence about the Iron Pro and the specs that interest them the most. A winner will be chosen at random and announced on the 1st Jan to get a free phone.
You will see that I have an entry on the UMi Iron Pro giveaway page, which came as a surprise to me as I was approached to take part but declined so please don’t waste your vote on me choose S7yler or someone else.
UMi Iron Pro Features
Feature highlights of the UMi Iron Pro include 3 types of biometric security options. The obvious one is the rear touch fingerprint scanner, but there is also an option to unlock the phone with an eye print or even voice unlock.
Gizchina News of the week
UMi have also loaded a couple of health apps in to the phone. A heart rate monitor/stress monitor is built in and uses a sensor on the front of the phone (see my hands on video below).
Other features include an all alloy body similar to the one found on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, 5.5-inch FHD display, 3GB RAM, MT6753 Octacore chipset, USB Type C, 8 mega-pixel front facing camera and 13 mega-pixel IMX214 rear.
The UMi Iron Pro has apparently old received 50,000 preorders and costs around $179.99 though online resellers, however taking part in the giveaway would get you one for free.
