Lenovo teased ‘an upcoming phone’ today, largely believed to be the successor to the famous K3 Note. However, a close look at the teaser reminds us of another Lenovo phone, one that’s loved for the sound and camera — the Vibe X3.
Given that the K3 Note is still doing well and is definitely relevant in the market, it’d be hard to imagine that Lenovo pull the plug on the device.
Which means that while the K3 Note caters to the mid-range market, the K4 Note could appeal to folks who don’t mind spending a little more.
What do you get with the extra money?
Well, for now, the single confirmed upgrade seems to be a metal body (not all-metal necessarily). However, if the K4 Note does happen to be a knocked-down Vibe X3, it’s certainly going to get much better multimedia features than the K3 Note.

This should include the front facing speakers and of course, the camera (Vibe X3 camera review should be up soon). It probably won’t be the same sensor, but what you can expect is an overall camera performance better than that of the K3 Note.
Looking at the current market situation, the conclusion is that most OEMs are trying to have a ‘killer’ phone in almost every price segment.
The K4 Note/Vibe X3 Lite will definitely be priced higher, perhaps somewhere close to the Vibe S1… but the K4 Note/X3 Lite will have something different to offer with the high-end-ish media features. The MT6753-powered X3 Lite is a phone that actually exists already, so it won’t be a big surprise to see it launch with another name.
