OnePlus X Champagne edition announced

OnePlus X Champagne

Just after its second anniversary, OnePlus has announced a new colour variant of the OnePlus X.

The OnePlus X, as you might know, came to existence on October 29. Back then, two versions of the phone were introduced — Onyx and Ceramic.

We even reviewed the Onyx version.

The new addition in the colour scheme is Champagne; but before you start imagining something coated entirely in metallic gold paint, you should know that it’s only the sides that will be Champagne-colured while the front and rear will have the same design but in a new colour — white.

Gizchina News of the week

If you’ve been following GizChina a while, you will have noticed this is the same version we did our early hands on tests with (which was previously believed to be China-only).

The specs remain the same — 5-inch 1920 x 1080p display, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 801 processor, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and a 2525mAh battery.

They report on the news coming out of the Chinese phone industry. No one forces you to read it. If I was a OnePlus fan this is the type of news I would want to read.

This phone looks like someone took the Mi4, Galaxy s6 and iPhone and mashed them all together. That’s not a bad thing either it is a very nice looking device. Too bad for the tiny battery.

According to my colleague, who bought it a month ago and another colleague who bought it a a week ago, the battery life is fine. About on the same level or even better than many other smartphones that have similar dimensions.

From what I have been told it’s fine compared to iPhones and similar devices with small batteries but you can barely squeeze a day out of it, which today is not good.

The device looks much better in real life than I expected it to be. I would buy one, if it had a fingerprint scanner.
