Homtom want you to learn Chinese while you try to win free phones

Continuing the trend of offbeat marketing tactics from Chinese OEMs is Homtom, with their latest giveaway antic. ‘Giveaway’ means that they’re giving away free phones; but there’s more.

Apparently Homtom want their fans and giveaway participants to learn Chinese while they’re at trying to win the phones.

The renders will tell you more about the former; about the giveaway, there are a total of six phones to be won.

Homtom are basically celebrating the season and the fact that they’ve gone past 12,000 Facebook fans. The six phones being given away include:

Gizchina News of the week

  • One HT6
  • Two HT5
  • Three HT7

There are some steps you’ll need to carry out to be eligible for the giveaway. You can find these over at the Homtom Facebook page.

Other interesting marketing activity we saw earlier today came from Homtom compatriot UMi, who are asking their fans to define their next smartphone, the UMi Apollo.
