Gionee continue showing their love for large battery phones, and have launched yet another couple smartphones with a larger-than-average capacity batteries.
The phones — Gionee Marathon M5 Plus and M5 Enjoy — are, as the model names state, variations of the Marathon M5.
The Marathon M5 Plus (top) comes with an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, along with 3GB RAM and 64GB on-board storage (plus microSD expansion). Besides that, the M5 Plus has an AMOLED 6-inch 1080p screen, a 13 mega-pixel PDAF-enabled rear camera, and a 5020mAh battery capable of reverse- and fast-charging via a USB Type-C port.
A physical home button sits in the center with a fingerprint sensor atop.
Gizchina News of the week
Moving on to the M5 Enjoy (above), the phone is in fact a bit of a downgrade to the original M5. The M5 Enjoy has the same 5.5-inch 720p panel as the original M5, but this time it’s only a TFT panel. Battery is a 5000mAh in capacity… an 8 mega-pixel sensor takes place of the 13 mega-pixel that sits on the rear of the M5. Before you pass your verdict about the M5 Enjoy being a complete knock-down, you might want to know that it has the same SoC (MT6735), RAM (3GB) as the original M5, but in addition to that features a fingerprint sensor as well.
