Elephone are set to break a new record with the Elephone Vowney which is now scheduled to ship on 30th December, a year after it was initially teased!
Late 2014 was the first time we heard that Elephone were working on a new phone that would feature high end hardware. As the teasers and leaks continued through the first few months of 2015 that mystery phone became the Vowney, and word of both a Windows and Android version of the phone came and went.
Elephone decided to create just a single Android version of the Vowney finally, and those of you who have already paid for your pre-sale model should finally receive it on the 30th December according to the latest news from the phone maker.
Gizchina News of the week
Elephone say that the delay is to work out a few more bugs in the system, which on one hand seems like a fair point, but then again this is a phone that we have seen 12 months of rumours and teasers about!!
Elephone Vowney 2K hands on

I don’t believe the statements about bugs, I think it’s down to sourcing components at a price to make a profit on. They are using off the shelf products with reference drivers for industrial partners, so how hard can it be. I do agree they were improving the camera modes and getting around NFC pick-up signal quality regarding their phone-shell design.
Now people will be asking if the Black option is on top of the existing Gold and Grey, or will it replace the Grey. The Smoky-Grey was luxury looking.
