Zopo confirm that their Speed 8 flagship launching at MWC 2016 will feature a rear fingerprint scanner.
Zopo have been revealing details of their upcoming Zopo Speed 8 phone, and the information is quite interesting. The phone maker has already confirmed that the Speed 8 will have a Mediatek Helio X20 chipset and that it will launch on February 24th, that timing could make it the first Helio X20 on the market!

Gizchina News of the week
Other interesting details are that the phone will have 4GB RAM, Android 6.0 and a metal chassis, plus today’s news confirms the implementation of a rear fingerprint scanner (the teaser image also shows a dual tone LED flash).
From what we know about the Zopo Speed 8 so far the phone is shaping up to be a decent flagship from the company, however we do remain wary as the brand has let customers down in the past.
We also wonder if the hardware will be enough? Being the first to announce a Helio 20 phone is one thing, but will Zopo be the first to launch the device? We also wonder if Zopo will have any innovations to help the phone standout, or if specs and Android 6.0 are their main playing cards.
What do you think of the upcoming Zopo Speed 8 flagship?
will the x20 be available to them(AND most other phone makers) by late Feb ?!
or are they in chance of pulling another ‘Vowney’ on their customers :p
The Zoppo name ain’t what it once was. They used to make quality devices for decent prices, but lately it has been crap phones that cost too much.
I’ve always seen them more as an “hit or miss” brand, there are have been models plagued with several issues, while some others were very good.
The fact that they recently are way much overpriced is also true, especially with the ridiculus prices they charge for those crappy entry levels which they sell in europe.
yes, it could also be considered partially hit and miss. but zte hits more (also with nubia sub-brand) and misses less compared to zopo.
The Nubia line is definitely a hit, the rest of ZTE though is hit or miss.
I don’t think they have that bad prices. For example they sell the Speed 7 for $160. Phones with these specifications are usually around $150 so the Speed 7 isn’t really expensive IMO.
But they have bad reputation from previous products. I had a C2 that was famous for ghost touches. It was not that bad with mine but really terrible on other pieces. Then they release the ZP999/X3 with really good specifications and price but left users with KitKat.
But at least they released the sources for their ROMs so developers can port another Android versions to the phone.
If they manage to make a good phone and keep the screen below 5″ and price below $300, I might consider it.
The SD808 is getting dropped all over China for cheap. I think it is hard for the X20 that was launched last year to compete.
The X20 hasn´t been launched yet , no phone has it right now ,maybe you talk about the X10
All over China? I have seen 2 phones that actually launched so far with the 808, Mi4c and Vibe X3 and neither are cheap. There have been some cheaper ones announced, but in this industry until it launches it isn’t real. Too many false “leaks”.
The X20 wasn’t launched last year, it is a brand new SoC. The X10 was launched last year and it has appeared in a lot more devices than the 808. Mediatek actually created a new category of phones with the X10, an upper mid range/lower flagship category.
Yeah, the Redmi Note 3 is getting an 808 revision. The Smartisan T2 is launching with it. The Qiku Terra has it and more are coming. The X20 was launched the same week as the X10. No OEM bought it and now it appears the 808 is the new high end budget processor.
The X20 was announced the same week as the X10, there is a huge difference between announcing a SoC and launching it. The SD808 was announced back in April of 2014 (see below link), it is just now showing up in devices. SoC manufacturers will announce new SoC’s 1-2 years before they actually go into production. For instance Mediatek has already announced the Helios X30 despite the X20 still not being officially launched.
They have review units out for both, in this industry they exist when they are proven they exist. You don’t get to change the rules of the universe with nonsense. Now if you can show a hands on with an X20 device you might have a leg to stand on, but they don’t exist. The SD808 has proven itself superior to all chips produced by Mediatek and is the new king of Chinese phones. This Mi4c im using is pretty sweet for the price.
They don’t exist because the chip hasn’t launched yet. I don’t how you can’t seem to grasp this simple concept. You can’t change the rules of the universe with nonsense because you don’t understand how this industry works.
Who has a review unit for the SD808 equipped Redmi 3 Note, Please provide links to all the sites currently reviewing a phone that doesn’t officially exist. There are plenty of Review units out of the Helios X10 powered Redmi Note 3. The 808 version was spotted at TENAA, that is not a review unit. Stop making stuff up that you don’t understand.
The MX5 I am using is pretty sweet for the price.
It launched with the X10, they were a set just like the 808/810. Is getting is what i said and is clearly a future tense so don’t worry about the Redmi. There are already plenty of Chinese handsets with the 808, I have one in my hand. The X20 has been expected month after month after month with no devices using it. OEMs take a pass and will continue to do so until Mediatek fixes the excessive power consumption. The 808 is superior to anything MTK produces and will continue to do so until they get off the flawed premise that more cores is better.
$300 for an X10… not really a deal especially with such a weak GPU.
It didn’t launch with the X10, it was announced with the X10 you clearly don’t know the difference between something actually launching and being announced. $300 for an X10…..a great deal especially with such an amazing camera. A phone is a lot more than a SoC.
You do realize the 808 and X10 are almost identical in performance in both CPU and GPU? Your comments are turning into typical fanboy comments.
You do realize the Adreno 418 is 2.5x faster than the PVR G6200? So enough nonsense on the garbage gpu of the X10. It is little more than an OCed 615 with bad battery life.
If by 2.5X you mean about 10% faster in benchmarks than sure. In actual performance though they are pretty much equal in every way.
Ice Storm Unlimited = 22k on my phone and 8.5k on yours. lol
I like how you make up stuff as you go along and hope no one will call you out on it. Luckily Phonearena has already run all the benchmarks and here were the results in their test of the LG G4 (SD808) and Meizu MX5 (X10):
Quadrant:
G4: 25736
MX4: 25730
Vellamo HTML5:
G4: 2545
MX5: 2442
GeekBench 3 (Single Core):
G4: 1134
MX5: 959
GeekBench 3 (Multi core):
MX5: 5043
G4: 3542
Nena Mark (FPS):
G4: 60.3
MX5: 59.2
GFX Bench 2.7:
MX5: 1498
G4: 1382
GFX Bench 3.0:
MX5: 5869
G4: 5782
3D Mark Ice Storm Unlimited:
G4: 18554
MX5: 16628
You can make up all the numbers you want but it doesn’t change reality that the 808 and X10 are evenly matched chips. The 808 performs better in some benchmarks, the X10 performs betters in others. But benchmarks are simulated results, in real world usage they offer nearly the same exact experience.
From Android Community (link below):
“The Helio X20 is no secret – it is an ambitious deca-core (count that: ten cores) SoC project by MediaTek scheduled to launch in 2016.”
You do realize the X20 is a competitor for the SD820 not the 808 right? The X20 wins in processing power, the 820 wins in GPU. If you are a gamer the 820 is a better chip, if you do a lot of video editing or anything else processor intensive the X20 or Kirin is better. All depends on individual use. If you want a mixture of both Samsungs new Exnyos is the best bet.
