ZTE’s Nubia brand has made numerous appearances abroad already, but an announcement on the 5th January could be the first simultaneous international launch we have seen.
Over the years the ZTE Nubia phones have been released in various markets but the phones have always been sold as ZTE models outside of China. A teaser posted by the company though has pointed at the possibility of an international launch for Nubia’s next smartphone.
Gizchina News of the week
ZTE Nubia Z11
Believed to be the Nubia Z11, the phone allegedly has a full metal body and a curved glass display with a new version of Nubia’s side gesture control system. Other possible details induce a 5.2-inch 2K display, 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 820 chipset, and a 21 mega-pixel main camera.
Another hint that ZTE might be taking Nubia abroad is news that the phone maker has recently purchased the Nubia.com website from a U.S register costing ZTE and claimed $2 million!
With the launch of the Z11, we hope we see Nubia go back to their roots and release a well priced and superbly sped’d phone as they did with the Z5, and Z7 ranges, keep posted for more details.
5th Jan 2016 is going to be a very busy day for Andi and his team. LeTV launch in India, Lenovo K4 note launch, Nubia Z11 and what else?? 😀
From a phone point standpoint this years CES might be a bit of a letdown as a lot of companies are moving more towards the Apple type of reveals. But we should see where several products are headed for 2016: Hybrid Laptops (2 in 1’s), Smart Watches, Drones/Robots, Smart Homes and the most promising of them all VR. Speaking of VR I got a Google Cardboard free through work and had a blast with it over the holidays.
I’m into drones (i like the fancy ones like the phantom but can’t spend that much money right now.
Plus i have to figure out better the new regulation. Hopefully Xiaomi will sell something soon) and the domotic ( i was trying to do some project with my RPI2 since I’ve got caught using it with XBMC and i can’t use that way anymore.)
I haven’t tried VR yet, i know LETV will start selling their VR stuff in the US after CES.
I got a drone for Xmas, haven’t taken it out yet but I am excited to.
IM SUPER EXCITED FOR CES !
OH BOYEE !
P.S isnt CES supposed to stretch ALL the way to 12-14 jan ?!
I think is does, but official announcements stop at 9, while the expositions keep going for some more days
right … so 6-9 is the timeline for most chinese (and non-chinese) brands to showcase their main stuff ?
It should, as long as we’re talking about reserved conferences… They can still showcase something during the fair tho (siswoo showed the darkmoon in that way 1 year ago, if I’m not mistaking, launching it officially some months after)
A lot of Chinese phones won’t be there, but the major players should all have some form of announcements like LG, Sony, HTC, Huawei etc. Huawei is unveiling their new US bound lineup for instance. Xiaomi usually skips CES and does their own unveils, and the smaller brands usually aren’t invited.
I will actually be there with Microsoft this year! But looking at the exhibitor list I have in front of me I see the following Chinese companies:
ZTE
Huawei
Mediatek
Lenovo
That is about it unless I missed some. But usually all the Chinese companies will make announcements this week. If I remember correctly last year at this time was when we had all the 6752 phones dropped on us.
thanks for the info as well …
No problem, if I see anything cool ill take pictures of it and send it to Andi. I am only there for one day though so we will see.
be sure to send a selfie with a collection of all the stuff you think is the coolest 🙂 !
Wow …. keep us posted mate…. can Andi make you a guest writer? It would be great. 🙂
the biggest downside of Nubia series are that they are SOOOO outta my range … and i TOTALLY dig their phones !
MANNnnn !
lol … thanks to SD :p
interesting – the Z9 Max doesn’t have heat issues (though the SD615 Z9 Mini seems to get damn hot!). I didn’t realise that the Z9 has heat issues, I would have thought the build and chassis design would be similar to the Max chassis, which heat-sinks very well.
That’s true, my Z9 max doesn’t get any hot at all, only when I do some intense gaming… but that did all my previous phones as well. Love it! Now CM 13 and Miui is available as well 😉
They dont come with google play installed and they are expensive compare to other chinese oems
