Chuwi have introduced the new Chuwi Hi8 Pro tablet which takes the impressive Cherry Trail CPU of the Hi12 and fits it inside a smaller 8 inch footprint.
Chuwi have introduced 2 tablets for 2016 so far. Their flagship is the Hi12 with large 12 inch display and optional stylus support and their newest is the smaller Chuwi Hi8 Pro.
The Hi8 Pro is an 8-inch tablet vs the 12 inch display of the Hi12, and features some more cost effective parameters to keep the price low. What it does retain from its big brother though is an Intel Cherry Trail 64bit chipset clocked at 1.44Ghz.
Windows 10 comes on the tablet running on 2GB RAM with 32GB internal flash memory and room for a SD card. Like the Chuwi Hi12, the Hi8 Pro will be given a dual boot update in the future meaning you can run either Windows or Android at any given time.

The Hi8 Pro also boasts USB Type C, a 4000mAh battery, dual 2 mega-pixel OV cameras and 1920 x 1200 resolution display. These images also show an optional case with built in physical keyboard.
It looks like 2016 is the year of the Chinese tablet, and we will see more dual boot Windows/Android devices on the market than ever before. The Hi8 Pro isn’t the first tablet of its type, Xiaomi introduced the Mi Pad 2 last year in a similar size.
Chuwi have only just listed the Hi8 Pro on their website, and while there is full specifications listing there isn’t a launch date or price announced yet. Is an 8-inch dual boot, Intel tablet likely to make an entry in to your digital life in 2016?
