Lenovo go all metal with their new budget Lenovo Lemon 3 which launched today and promises some hot competition to the Xiaomi Redmi 3.
For those of us in the know, ‘Lemon’ is the name that Lenovo use in China for their budget phones, in fact the highly praised Lenovo K3 Note also came under the Lemon umbrella in China.
The new Lemon 3 is a 5-inch phone so not a successor to the K3 Note, but the new all metal body might hint at what we can expect from one.
Gizchina News of the week
With a metal body, 5-inch display, Snapdragon 616 chipset and 2GB RAM the Lenovo Lemon 3 seems spec for spec on par with the Xiaomi Redmi 3 launched this week, but where the Xiaomi opts for a HD display the Lemon 3 has a FHD 1920 x 1080 panel.
Another difference in spec between the Xiaomi and the Lenovo is the inclusion of Dolby Atmos, and Maxx Audio features. These are real plus points for any phone, but is going to make the budget 699 Yuan a firm favourite with music and movie lovers.
Lenovo haven’t gone for a huge battery but say the 2750mAh can offer 15 days of standby or 6.2 hours of video playback.
Other features include a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, single LED flash, 5 mega-pixel front camera and LTE.
Lenovo Lemon 3 feature highlights:
- 5-inch FHD display
- Snapdragon 616
- 2GB RAM
- Dolby Atmos
- 2750mAh
- Dual SIM
- Micro SD support
- 142 x 71 x 7.99 mm
Expect Lenovo to be planning to launch the Lemon 3 (under another name) in other markets.
If Lenovo are looking for India market..they better transplant a 4000 mah battery into this because of poor networks Large batteries always were a requirement for Indian mobiles, a fact perhaps never really recognised by the dimwits running the mobile biz here.
Ahahahaha i agree with you, problem is those rich highly paying CEO at big companies normally all dimwits. Problem is THEY ARE THE CEO that have the power but no brain LOL.
For example, NOKIA supposed to be a very big company that produced many good and durable handphones, and because of 1 fuckin’ idiot CEO Stephen Elop they collapsed. And the freakin’ idiot NOKIA never realized until it was really really late to fix the damaged caused by this ELOP CEO.
Beware of stupid CEO !!!!
I still remember my old nokia 5110, the battery can hold for at least 1 week LOL.
Now it is consider lucky to have my handphone alive for 1 day.
Don’t worry, their battery capacity is real, not a fake one like many other “brands”.
If you test some older Lenovo models, you will see it gives similar results with lower capacity, like Xiaomi’s with 25-35% bigger (on papir).
I think the reputed manufacturers from China likd Xiaomi etc. Do not lie about their battery capacity. This from personal use of Xiaomi phone.
Did you use Mi4i?
They say it have 3150mAh.
And still Xperia Z with stronger SoC and 2400mAh battery does twice better time with same ussage paten.
Xiaomi was good, i know. Still have Redmi 1s, and a broken Mi3. I also have Pistons, Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth speaker, MiBand (wich can do 50days, even though they promise just 1 month, on battery).
And why am i so angry?
Well, they did decide to use bad SoC (not we, users) , terrible battery life and finally they have sold us phone with uncomplicated OS. After 3-4 months of constant updates, OS is finally ok (no major bugs), but then i had first HW problem with any Xiaomi products that i use…and guess what!?
They DO NOT OFFER international guarantee.
With any problem, you are on your own.
Tnx Xiaomi, but never again.
Agree. Lenovo really doesn’t take any attention on the battery specs and that’s bad for me. One exception is the Vibe P1 which is really a nice phone. You can buy a phone with a similar or higher performance at the same price, but powered by a huge 4000mah battery
