Rumour: Huawei working on dual boot tablet with stylus

huawei dual boot tablet rumour

Huawei look set to be the next Chinese manufacturer to launch a large screen tablet with stylus, plus their’s might even be dual-boot.

An image originating from Weibo in China has lead to rumours that Huawei are working on a transforming tablet with detachable keyboard. The image clearly shows a large tablet (likely around 12-inches) with docking keyboard and stylus.

The specifics of the device haven’t been revealed but knowing that Huawei have already dabbled in force touch technology on certain phones, we hazard a guess this tablet might get a similar feature too. We also see the front of the tablet appears to show dual speakers along the ‘bottom edge’ (if held in portrait) and a front facing camera for video calls.

Gizchina News of the week

Chinese media claim that the mystery Huawei will feature an Intel processor and will run dual operating systems and dual-boot option (we assume Android and Windows).

Huawei aren’t the only company working on products like this for 2016. Late last year Xiaomi released their Xiaomi Mi Pad 2, and we have seen Chinese tablet makers Chuwi, and Teclast also announce similar products.

We will keep an eye on what Huawei have planned with their tablet, and while we don’t know when it will launch we assume it will be on show at MWC next month.
