The ZUK Z1 has become one of the first Chinese made Android phones to receive an official Cyanogen 13 build upgrading the hand set to Android M (aka Android 6.0).
With an official partnership with Cyanogen the ZUK Z1(ZUK Z1 Review here) was always going to receive the CM13 update, but we didnt for a second think we would see the Android 6 based system so early in the year. There is one caveat though and that being this is a ‘nightly’ build of CM13, which is a development version that likely has a few bugs and optimisations that need resolving before a final OTA release is available.

If you think you can live with a beta ROM on your ZUK Z1 though, head over to the CM download pages and download the manual install file.
It’s time for Chinaphones with Android 6(.0.1) to appear. Still it’s all 5.1 right now.
All devices need to get 6.0, it’s not limited to just Chinese phones. There are plenty of mainstream brands that have been slow with updating.
