A feature of the Elephone P9000 we weren’t aware of until this morning was wireless charging!
Elephone have update the Elephone P9000 pages of their site to include full specifications and full details of the features of their new phone. In addition to being one of the first Helio P10 phones, running Android 6 and having narrow 1.6mm bezels, the Elephone P9000 also supports wireless charging.
Elephone P9000 Wireless Charging
The official Elephone P9000 specs list wireless charging as an option, however the wireless charging dock is listed as an accessory and needs to be purchased separately.
Gizchina News of the week
The newly update P9000 pages also mention the inclusion of fingerprint app lock in the Android 6 based OS, NFC, USB Type C, and even tells us that U.S LTE bands are coming soon!
The Elephone P9000 is on sale now, more details over on the Elephone website.
Be careful. This phone uses SIM slot 2 for the Micro SD slot and Elephone don’t make it clear on their website and promo video, however the video clearly shows so.
Do keep it in mind if you’re like me and needs both slots. Canceled my order already.
thanks man
do you know any other handset with same specifications and price which support dual sim and micro sd card at a same time…
I don’t and that’s the problem. Not like I need 4GB of RAM though so I can just buy a Redmi Note 2 if I have to.
I’ll try waiting to see if any other companies will correct this stupidity, my old phone still serves me well in the meantime.
I don’t think they ever said it would accept 2 SIM and an SD. Their wording is the same as every other phone makers.
They never said that it doesn’t either. Either way this piece of information can means both with the same wording.
GO fuck yourself you stupid cunt. If your going to be a prick to people who answer your questions fuck off to some other website you filthy european.
Most phones that have dual sim and Micro SD have this set up. The second sim is the SD slot. Back in the day you would have two dedicated Sim Slots and an SD Card, I don’t know of too many phones that still do that.
Redmi Note 2 does.
Most phones today are switching to a unibody metal design that uses a sim tray, like the Redmi Note 3 has. The Note 2 was based on the older polycarbonate removable back.
Don’t care with metal. I won’t buy those ‘most phone’ then, simple. Oh and before you’re ‘concerned’ about me, don’t, I’ll survive.
I am not ‘concerned’ in the least just helping you understand where phones are headed.
Just like the other elephone fanatic on here he will defend them till he dies, don’t waste your breath arguing with people of his ilk! We can sleep easy at night knowing we’re not contributing to a scamming manufacturer like elephone. Besides, there are much better phones out there for less money.

And actually Andi, most of the time I see those other phone makers have “Support Micro SD (Uses Sim 2)” or something like that on the spec.

I have not found one store yet, that accepts the discount voucher for their presale, if there was a consumer protection agency in china, this company would be shut down
It has said it would since day 1. I bought two codes and they ignore refund requests and the phone is $20 more than they said it would be. Pure scammers, do not trust them and never buy from them.
Every article about Elephone has at least one comment on how they are scammers and not to trust them, yet you bought 2 codes??? It was inevitable that you would get screwed, I don’t understand why people buy in to their bullshit when it’s plastered all over the web! Chalk this one down to experience, learn from it and move on.
That’s what gets me, people still fall for their scams even after reading about their scams.
I suppose that’s how their business model works! I don’t like being rude to people, but seriously how thick do you have to be to read all about their lies on a daily basis and still buy their products and then have the cheek to complain about it afterwards!
Because not all people obsessively read bad news about phone (which exist for every manufacturer ever) on the net, and not all people have had any bad experience with Elephone?
You can keep acting like that’s somehow make you a better man than ‘those people’ though, more power to you!
Well thanks for sharing your ignorance with the rest of us. However I have to point out that there will be virtually no one on here who hasn’t had their fingers burnt buying Chinese tech at some point (me included). As for all manufacturers having negative experiences that is quite true, however Elephone tend to have a lot more negative than positive, care to check the web and the forums here and you will see. Lastly, if you are serious about buying Chinese phones then even the simplest minded person should frequent sites like this and a little web research before pulling the trigger on a purchase. Either way, if they can’t be bothered to scroll through hundreds of pages of Elephone complaints and still not get the message, they deserve to learn the hard way.
When I first started buying Chinese phones (and your might have a similar experience), this was pretty much the only site. Most of these brands were virtually unheard of outside of sites like this. It was much easier to get burned by brands. Today there is no excuse even western sites like Phone Dog and Android Authority are covering Chinese phones. Any consumer who buys a product without doing research deserves whatever happens to them.
Every Manufacturer does have bad news, but the difference between them and Elephone is they also have good news. Most of the people who come to this site have some experience with Chinese phones or comes here to read news about Chinese phones. I don’t know about you but before I buy anything on the internet, I do some research on the company first. It’s not called being a “better man”, it’s called being a “smart consumer”.
Some people also have positive experience with Elephone from what I can gather. You can keep being on your high horse though, don’t care lol.
We are on a “high horse” for calling out a bad company? Most people have horrible experiences with this company. Them being bad is of no benefit to Rob or Myself. We would love them to be good, it only helps this industry.
Did you gather those ‘most’ by running survey or scrutinizing the entire whole wide internet? or have you actually met people who actually used their product and gathered enough accountable sample size to come to that conclusion.
Anyway, really not interested with defending Elephone nor playing with your justice game. So w/e.
I have known about a 6 people who have personally used Elephone products and had horrible experiences. 5 of them the phone didn’t make 7 months before having a major issue. I also belong to multiple forums where people constantly post about how bad the experience with this company has been.
You are not interested in defending them, yet that is exactly what you are doing.
Have to agree with that comment i only find out about Xiaomi and other brands by reading about them.
The P9000 in the videos that i have seen look great but the question is always with Elephone can they deliver.
A the answer to that question has always been no. I am waiting to see if the W2 will come out before the end of the year and be any good when it does.
People fall into a trap with Elephone. They see the flashy specs which look great on paper and somehow they convince themselves that this time will be different. Elephone fans rival iSheep in their devotion to this company. Many of them will even comment about how bad the quality or software is but yet they still will buy the next one.
the saying ‘if it’s too good to be true it probably is’ springs to mind and yes they have a few very loyal followers on this site (I’m pretty certain we all know who one of them is at least!), but like you say they live in hope and thus will never learn.
I’ve never bothered to read articles on Elephone because they never appealed to me before the P9000. Knowing they are as horrific as everyone claims on this very website, don’t you think Andy has a duty to not promote their shit so hundreds or thousands of people like myself don’t buy codes through them?
Open a dispute with your paypal. Worked for me.
Elephone again?
This won’t work.
what type of wireless charging are we talking?
Qi or something else?
the only problem I see with this phone is that, at nearly the same price, and available sooner, will be the UMI Zero 2. It may not have all the bells and whistles this has, but the upgrade is significant, since it will at least come with a Helio X20 SoC
I don’t need an uber powerful chip since I don’t need all those extra power in a phone and I rather pocket the extra battery life and less heat.
Yeah .. you know what? I know exactly what you mean. I can’t make up my mind honestly.. because there are a lot of things included in phones like the one here, but then again I don’t really want all of them. On the other hand, a “desktop replacement” or “gaming phone” doesnt entirely make sense for me either.
What exactly do you do with your phone the most?
I’ve been thinking about tht a lot. I need to get a phone to complete some coursework soon — I am working on the courseware now, and it has several sections on android development .. and me without a good target to develop and test for.
The U.S. version isn’t supposed to be out until April. I’m in for $5 on the chance to buy one but by April there will be other choices so I’m likely out the $5 bucks.
If Elephone says it’s due in April you can expect it in October.
I think you are being too optimistic, my friend. When they say April, I would rather go with April of next year. 😀
To buy it at the reduced price I have to do so by mid-feb, I think. Then wait a minimum of two months which could turn into 6 months or more. No. Not going to do that.
Coming soon is a swear word from Elephone

Lol …
😀
If Elephone ever does release a problem free phone and keeps their word about release dates, I will be the first to congratulate them.
see ? 😀
i was right.
Elephone should send me a phone, if it’s good. I can do more for their publicity in a month than their entire marketing team can do in a year.

I’ve been thinking about tht a lot. I need to get a phone to complete some coursework soon — I am working on the courseware now, and it has several sections on android development .. and me without a good target to develop and test for.
I want a phone that is <$350 .. and hopefully less than that. Above that price range, you can occasionally find deals on flagship phones (or refurbished ones) .. and that stuff is basically too rich for my blood.
I need a phone that I can develop for and test with .. both regular apps and games.
I love photography and do a lot of image manipulation. I have works in online galleries, and have had shows. My last job was as a web designer and developer… although most of my experience has been in development and system administration. I went into a lot of detail about camera stuff recently… I can share it.
Fast charging is important to me too, but there is lots of tech that I can appreciate but don't really need (I like tech like wireless charging, but .. who cares).
I actually made a detailed listing of such thoughts just a week ago. I can share it with you:
SoC
* ☆☆☆☆ single core perf – basically P10 or better
* ☆☆☆ multi-core perf – basically P10 or better
* ☆☆ graphics perf – this could be as powerful as an 820. until there's a specific game I care about though, it isn't worth all that much to me.
* ☆☆☆☆ lots of ram – 3gb+
* ☆☆☆ storage – either 32gb+, or sd card support. pref. both
Screen
* ☆☆☆☆ resolution – I consider 1080p both the least and most that I want, but if it was higher I'd be okay with it.
* ☆☆☆ OLED – LCDs need to be proportionally brighter to be as visisble in brigh confditions, and suffer angle color-shifts even if they are still totally visible at wide agle.
* ☆☆☆☆☆ – outdoor brightness – the ability to get bright is a definite plus. alternatively a second e-ink display would be just as good, but that is very rare.
* ☆☆☆ accuracy – I'm an artist. so I care more than .. maybe more than I should
* ☆☆ bezel – I am a less-is-more kind of person.
* ☆☆☆☆ thin front pane – What I am mostly interested in though is the lack of apparent depth from the bezel's plane to the plane of the screen's image. OGS and LTPS are example tech to look for
* ☆☆ 120fps – the new x20s will support 120fps. A screen to match would be pretty awesome.
Cameras
* ☆☆☆ pixel count
* ☆☆☆☆ image fidelity – this is the other end of the spectrum from MP count … it isn't the most important thing though
* ☆☆☆☆ speed of focus/shots
* ☆☆☆☆☆ phase autofocus – or equivalent
* ☆☆☆ speed and duration of image burst mode
* ☆☆☆☆ full controls
* ☆☆ slow motion video
* ☆☆☆ 1080p60 video
* ☆ 4k video
* ☆☆☆☆ accuracy and smoothness of auto controls for video
* ☆☆☆ DOF/3d scanning – as in phones using the x20
* ☆☆☆☆ front camera – 5mp is a minimum. 8mp is significantly better. Higher would even be awesome.
Accessories
* ☆☆☆☆ US 4G bands
* ☆☆☆☆ wifi ac
* ☆☆ nfc – would be nice
* ☆ wireless charging
* ☆☆☆ quick charging – would be nice
* ☆☆ fingerprint sensor – a not-so-good one is basically worthless to me. a good one is kinda nice.
* ☆☆☆☆ water resistance – full on active versions are nice. a case that could let me take it in the shower would work just as well.
* ☆☆☆☆ removable battery – I'm a believer.
* ☆☆☆☆ large battery
* ☆☆☆☆ marshmallow – having the latest android on it means it will likely have newer parts and higher build quality.
* ☆☆☆ grippiness – I don't want to be dropping the thing
The U.S. version isn’t supposed to be out until April. I’m in for $5 on the chance to buy one but by April there will be other choices so I’m likely out the $5 bucks.

it still says:
“WCDMA: 1/2/4/5
FDD-LTE: 1/2/4/7/17
TDD-LTE: 38/40”
this alone would keep it out of the US market. maybe they are afterall looking to bring a P9000 Edge variant, like the one that they demoed about a month earlier? That was supposed to be either an X20 or even a snapdragon 820, if I remember correctly, and cost about $100 or so more
maybe the coming soon in the title is a bit optimistic

Does anyone know of a good forum to ask about what chinese phone to get?
The forum here seems kind of dead.
It seems kind of messy to ask in comments here, not really suited to such long discussion :$
I was going to get a P9000 lite as i paid for a $5 voucher but i think i will get a refund now.
It emerges that the specs don’t have a gyro sensor for the lite version and also it is $20 more than they had mentioned it would be “around”.
Or should i just ask in the comments here?
I know i am the minority and i know i am going against a lot of Elephone haters. But i have replaced my LG G3 with the Elephone M2 and have never looked back. The M2 is thinner, faster, and smoother then the LG G3. I’ve only had the M2 for about 2 months now i think but no issues “knock on wood” i am either really lucky or the devil isn’t as bad as everyone says…..BTW i had a question to ask them and i used the included Ele support app and received a reply within the hour! I really couldn’t be happier.
Yeah, and if you have any bugs with the OS of your Elephone, don’t expect any Updates! You need to fix it yourself! I had an ECOO E04 Plus for almost 8 months (ECOO belongs to Elephone) and it’s a nightmare!
Until today, there is NO ROM that plays good with that phone! I changed almost 5 ROMs and it still plays like shit! ECOO promised Lollipop and they gave away only a Beta ROM that has many bugs! KitKat version also has many bugs! Elephone doesn’t care fixing the phones’ problems and they keep selling 2 new models every month!! I will NEVER buy an Elephone/ECOO again…
Could very well be, I can only speak of my experience now. Here’s hoping they improved since the ecco 4/
