U.S based mobile carrier US Mobile has become the first company in North America to offer both Meizu and Xiaomi phones.
US Mobile are offering the Meizu M2 Note, Xiaomi Redmi 2, Mi3 and Mi4i in the North American market with prices ranging from $120 – $220. The carrier uses T-Mobile’s towers for LTE coverage.
Gizchina News of the week
The carrier says that it hope to build a close relationship with Xiaomi and Meizu to offer more phones in the future. Their current subscription options induce a $9 a month option with 100 minutes, 100 texts and 100mb data up to a $59 subscription with 5GB of LTE.
is it not a 4G offering then? “The carrier uses T-Mobile’s towers for LTE coverage.” I thought that T-mobile is not compatible with the antennas in any Xiaomi device at present.. and that Xiaomi is still not planning to make a US-specific variant of any builds soon.
I’d love to get my hands on a RedMi Note 3 ‘Pro’, the one with a snapdragon 650 in it, compatible with US 4G networks.
You, he is on the moneys
Really it is hard to believe the first entry in USA market by Mi is… Mi4i, Mi3 and Redmi 2 ???!!!. Enemies companies will be happy: what flagship devices. USA market for get out old stock is a mess
There’s this page called http://www.WILLMYPHONEWORK.net WICH i recommend… That’s why you can check if it will work prior to buying. Anyways, the manufacturers can alter the frecuencys to match requested ones by the carriers, that’s what I had understood.
They can include the correct antennas but one of two of those phones aren’t even in production anymore the Mi3 and Mi4i. And if Xiaomi was going to enter the US market and have US specific models, US Mobile wouldn’t be their first choice for a carrier. I had never even heard of them until today. Xiaomi will partner with ATT, Verizon or Tmobile if and when they enter the US.
coolicool?
I haven’t found it available in many places. I tempted to try it out to replace my perfectly fine LG G2, but my practical side is holding me back. I’ll probably hold off and see if there is any truth to the rumors about two new Nexus phones coming out from HTC.
I had no choice, I’m without phone right now and I couldn’t go much longer. If you can wait then I suggest you to do so because many good things are coming out and if none of them will satisfy you then you can go with the Note 3 PRO that meanwhile It will cost less.
Only Aliexpress had it available.
$265 for the 3/32GB version
I tasted 4gLte once and said to my self HAVE TO HAVE IT and then never looked back. That’s why the XL catered perfectly for me. I’m positive to be the only one in my country with it or at least from a very small group ?
I know, that’s why I don’t want to taste it yet, otherwise I have to say bye to Chinese phones or start looking to higher budget phones 🙁
It’s really no benefit buying from them, they still don’t have LTE coverage and I pay less using Tmobile. With Tmobile I pay $30 a month for unlimited data (5GB LTE, rest of H+), unlimited texts and 100 mins talk (easy to get around with unlimited data).
I loved that plan, in my opinion the best plan out there.
Too bad I get really bad coverage where I live so I had to switch to AT&T.
yeah, bummed I get crappy coverage for TMobile as well. more power to TMobile, hope they continue to put pressure on ATT and Verizon
Yea it is only good if you live close to major city. I get crap for service when we got to our summer home in NH.
My wife “hates people” so we had to buy an house in the country.
I’m more a city person, but my opinion doesn’t count
Happy wife, happy life. We are both city people, but in the summer we like to get away from the people lol.
