Zopo follow up the Speed 7 with the Hero 1 launched in India

The Zopo Hero 1 goes on sale in India with quad-core processor, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and 2500mAh battery for Rs 12,000.

Zopo officially entered the Indian smartphone market back in August with the Speed 7 smartphone, and today they have released another device the Zopo Hero 1.

The Hero 1 costs Rs 12,000, which is about $177, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop fro a quad-core MT6735 chipset and 2GB RAM. The entry-level Zopo is smaller than the Speed 7 with a 5-inch 1280 x 720 display for better in hand comfort, but the smaller physical size means a battery of just 2500mAh.

Camera specs include a 13 mega-pixel main camera with LED flash and 5 mega-pixel sensor up front with the usual beautification features all built in. The phone also has space for micro SD cards up to 64GB, dual SIM and 4G LTE.

The Zopo Hero 1 will be on sale through online resellers, but also in physical stores giving customers the chance to try before they buy.

    In India it costs $177 but on Gizchina Shop it’s only $119? I can’t see anyone paying $177 for this phone that pretty much defines “entry level”. Zoppo needs to realize their brand name isn’t as strong as it once was, they can no longer charge a premium for their brand name.
