You may not have heard of Weimei before, but the Spanish brand has been covered on GizChina before.
Weimei are in the news yet again for their new Weimei We Plus smartphone, which is an 8-core phone with a sleek and stylish body.
It’s a phone that doesn’t have the most unique design (downside of the number of phones launching these days is that they all look alike), but yet manages to be pretty with its metal body and 6.9mm thickness.
Gizchina News of the week
Inside, the Weimei We Plus has a 64-bit octa-core processor of unknown make (presumably the MediaTek MT6753), 3GB of RAM, 5.5-inch 720p display and a 3150mAh battery, which Weimei stress upon.
Cameras on the phone are a 13 mega-pixel rear (with PDAF) and 5 mega-pixel front. While all of this makes for a pretty phone with decent specs, it’s the pricing that might hold you back from getting one right away.
The We Plus is priced at 289 Euros ($325), which certainly doesn’t make it the most powerful phone in its price range.
at the price, I imagine that it is a P10 instead.
I think the name is funny — when i first read it I thought “why me We plus??”
I just want to say, at this point, I am firmly in balcobomber25’s camp when it comes to this being a 6753 — even if it were a P10 it would be too pricey. But with a chip that is in phones that go for $50-$200 .. and a 720p screen to boot, it’s just silly.
More sound like Way May We Plus.. Anyway, a Spanish brand?? Seriously?? I bet anyone who heard that brand must have guess it is Chinese not Spanish.
> Anyway, a Spanish brand?? Seriously
what are you talking about. I never mentioned Spain.
thanks for the pronunciation tip — I actually have taken some very fundamental chinese self-studies coursework… but it has been a while
Sorry mate, I was referring to the article mentioning that the brand is from Spain and not from your early comment.
$325 for a 6753, 720p and from a brand most of us have never heard of? Yea no thanks.
