As expected Meizu have once again teamed up with Canonical to release an Ubuntu version of the Meizu Pro 5.
We thought we would have to wait for MWC for the Ubuntu Edition of the Meizu Pro 5 to be officially announced, but a quick look over on the Ubuntu website today reveals that the Pro 5 is already listed as an Ubuntu device.
Gizchina News of the week
The Pro 5 Ubuntu isn’t on sale just yet, but when it does become available it will be the highest spec Ubuntu phone ever to date. Specs are the same as the Android version as far as we can tell and include a 5.7-inch FHD AMOLED display, 21 mega-pixel main camera, fingerprint scanner, and Samsung Exynos 7420 chipset.
It’s highly likely that the phone will be displayed at MWC next week so we will try and get hold of it if we have chance.
I was just wondering are you guys planning a review of the Pro 5(android version)? It might be my next phone 🙂
USB C -should- enable docks with ethernet+usb+hdmi but I am not sure if any Android phone with USB C actually supports this yet? Is it enabled in Android? Windows phones do of course.

Not that this one has desktop mode enabled anyway.
