A tonne of makers have based their smart wearables off of the MediaTek MT2502 and its variants. However, only some happen to be brands that can be trusted.
Haier, I’d assume happens to be one of those brands. Speaking of, the company has a smartwatch based on the very SoC (MT2502C) which is currently on discounted sale.
The device — Haier Iron smartwatch — is on sale for $41.99. The Haier Iron comes with a VGA camera of its own, and also has a heart rate sensor embedded into the body.
Other features remain the same as any smartwatch — notification relay, pedometer, sleep monitoring and sedentary reminders. For the spec-savvy, there’s 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM in there.
The display is a 1.54-inch Gorilla Glass 3 coated panel, while the battery is 380mAh in capacity with claimed up-time of 300 hours on a single charge.
As for the design, you probably won’t have to spend time looking at the Iron smartwatch to get used to it, for you’ll already have seen it before.
