Like a lot of other Chinese companies, Elephone don’t have the monies that the Samsungs and Apples of the world have for marketing their products. This often results in some out-of-the-box marketing stunts, which more often than not are successful.
This time round, Elephone are having a 3-day activity wherein they’ll ‘auction’ their products. You read it right, it isn’t a reverse auction or anything (where the lowest unique bid wins), but a regular, orthodox auction.
The auction goes live 3pm (GMT +8; China Time) between 23rd and 25th this month. To participate, you’ll have to shell out $5 (which can be refunded anytime) and place your bid. The final bid will include your $5 deposit, so you pay = (your bid-$5) in the end.
The devices on auction are:

Pretty whacky indeed, no? Planning to snag a P9000, are you?

No one is his right sense will participate.
We’re legion.
They haven’t seen anything yet. Ooh they are afraid of Xiaomi tomorrow’s launch?
Xiaomi mi 5 will swallow their vowney and P9000
I can see a lot of people never getting their $5 back and never getting a phone out of this. This sounds like a terrible idea.
I deposited them 5$ for buying Elephone in January, asked money back and did not get it. Only what I got was the question why I want MY money back. Do not give them money or you’ll never again see it.
They just ignored my requests to refund. They are Chinese scamming scum. Do not waste a penny on them.
