We’re are still waiting and waiting for the UMi Touch to finally touch down and be available to buy, but for those of you not sure about the phone, UMi are trying to tempt you over by pointing out some top features of the phone.
If you can look past the Meizu clone design, the UMi Touch does actually offer some great features, well at least on paper.
The metal unibody phone has a front fingerprint scanner beneath a physical home button. This position was actually voted the most preferred by GizChina readers in a recent poll.
UMi are also touting the all alloy unibody design which they say used the ‘Golden Ratio’ to create the most attractive and comfortable smartphone available. The finish will be either in grey, silver or gold.
A huge battery is tucked up inside the Touch. At 4000mAh its the same size as the battery in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, and wth the latest Android OS it promises decent battery life.
Speaking of the battery performance, much of those claims come down to the use of Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the phone out of the box.
Gizchina News of the week
UMi are claiming the cameras in the Touch are ‘brilliant’. The rear is a Sony IMX328 sensor, a model we still cannot find any information about, while the rear is a 5 mega-pixel camera from Hynix.
Not an unusual feature on a Chinese Mediatek phone, the UMi Touch boasts support for dual LTE SIM cards or a single SIM and micro SD card up to 128GB in size.
The final stand out feature that UMi are talking about is the pricing. Sure at $179.99 the retail price does sound attractive, but it’s all relative really.
So do these UMi Touch features have you reaching for your credit card, or are you (like us) waiting to see the phone launch and get some first hands on impressions with the phone before you make the investment?
Believe and trust UMI at your own peril.
Change the launcher then and stop bullsh*ng. Flyme is a really nice shell. It may not look like pure android, but it is snappy and reliable.
well, meizu have bigger community, that mean there will be a regular update for the flyme, and there will be many other ported rom.
