Gizchina News of the week
For those of us who are cyclists you will also notice that the component in the picture is a high-end Shimano rear derailleur used for changed the gears across the rear cassette. The Shimano Ultergra name hints that the Xiaomi bike will be a high-end road bike. Interestingly this is not the creme dela creme of road mechs, as Shimano also make electronic models too.
Although 19,999 Yuan makes the QiCycle R1 the most expensive product in the Xiaomi range, the price is actually quite competitive for a well equipped road bike. Top of the range professional road bikes can cost considerably more, so it will be interesting to see the rest of the R1’s equipment when launched.
Does is come with tu hao? Because I don’t want to keep telling my friends I paid 19999 RMB for it.
Well I guess you don’t have to be shy about that. I had informed my club my new bike this season is made by Seraph, similar to Xiaomi which was a bicycle company registered back in 2008. For the frame and my component the total cost is CAD2800. Be confident, if they laugh, they probably never realize they might just falling behind the trend.
With that price tag you don’t want it to be out of your sight in China.
