Lenovo K3 Note gets the Marshmallow OTA in India

Lenovo’s hugely popular K3 Note is now getting the all-important Marshmallow update in India.

At a hefty 1.65GB, the update brings a handful new features to the budget phone. This includes, but isn’t limited to Doze, Google Now on Tap, advanced app permissions, and a bunch of security updates.

TheaterMax support for VR makes it to the update also, which means the K3 Note can now be used with Lenovo’s AntVR viewer.

The update, like any other Android OTA, is being rolled out in phases. If you haven’t received it yet and are too impatient to wait for it, you can download the required files here and flash your K3 Note the ROM manually.

Lenovo’s update tracker site doesn’t yet mention anything about Marshmallow for the K4 Note or the Vibe X3, as Android Central points out.

This is sad redmi note 2 and 3 don’t have it. Xiaomi beaten by Lenovo. Xiaomi is really going downhill lately

I am impressed about the support of the K3 Note and there are also a lot of custom roms on needroom. I wish there would be a successor of the K3 Note with more modern hardware components, but the same amount of community and support by Lenovo.

MIUI have got the features you already wanted.

If you need M badly, flash developers ROM.

        1. You don’t know what features I want.
        2. I never mentioned android N. This article is about android M
        3. Dev rom has neither N nor M.

I’m very impressed with Lenovo doing this!

Most 6752 phones never even saw 5.1 let alone Marshmallow
