If you thought camera-centric phones were also expensive phones then think again, as Blackview are aiming to bring iPhone level photo quality to below $100 phones.
The Blackview A8 is up for pre order now and will feature a metal frame, front and rear LED flashes and an 8 mega-pixel rear camera shared with the iPhone 5S. What makes this all quite exciting is the fact the pricing of the phone is only $49.99.
Gizchina News of the week
Specs also include a quad-core MT6580 chipset, 1GB RAM, 8GB memory, 5-inch HD display, Android 5.1, 2000mAh battery and colour options including White, Gold and Black.
The phone will also be available with a flip-cover as seen in these photos.
these are the worst ele-bezels(tm) ive seen until now. The display is not even laminated, horrific phone

Those black lines make the Mi5’s look small, which is no easy task.
On a 50$ device you really can`t complain all that much, personally I think the Picasso model is a better buy at 69,99$.
I can complain when other $50 phones don’t have those lines.
They are a bit thicker than usual, but if built quality is a bit more solid I wont mind.
Not me, no way I could look at that everyday. Unless it comes in black that would drive me crazy.
i call bullshit.
“hey, we use the same sensor of a 3 years old phone, so it must be good”… How in the world does this makes some sense in their right minds?
The iPhone 5S still takes better pics than a lot of current Android phones. The sensor doesn’t matter much once you get past 8mp. This phone will probably take terrible pics but it won’t be because of the sensor, it will be because of cheap lenses and poor optimization.
I know, and it’s not a matter of mpxs, just wondering: with the same lenses and sw, is there really any benefit to choose a 3 year old sensor over a newer one on the same level?
It depends on a number of factors: availability, cost and history. It’s an incredibly cheap phone meaning they did everything possible to keep costs down. If this is a sensor that Blackview has used in the past they already know how to optimize it for their phones. There are still companies that use the IMX 135 and 214, a platform that is 3 years old.
In soviet China it does
That’s what I call creative marketing. 50$ phone cannot offer anything interesting at all in camera department (doubt it can in any), yet let’s call it ‘cameracentric’ only because it shares some piece of hardware with iPhone 5s. Good job … not.
49.9$ If you can buy, is a good price.
