While last year we saw phone makers working on wearable devices, and the year before that there was the explosion in earphones, this year is set to be the year of VR accessories.
Already we have seen VR headsets from brands overing various degrees of technology inside, from fully equipped headsets with 2K displays and Android operating systems to more basic goggle that simply require you to place your phone inside.
The UMi VR Box 3 is one of the latter versions and is compatible with phones from 4 to 6-inches (although they recommend 4.7-inch as the smallest size for better performance. The body itself if made of a lightweight ABS and resin mix that is up to 20% lighter than similar products, while the ergonomic design is meant to place 30% stress on the wearer.
Adjustable lens allow the wearer to dial in the view, and a magnetic trigger lets the user select onscreen icons without the need to touch the phone.
