Earlier today Meizu confirmed the launch date and hinted at the material of the Meizu M3 Note in a new teaser.
Meizu released invitation and launch details today for the next generation Meizu Meilan phone, aka the Meizu M3 Note and with it also hinted at an all new build material for the range.
The teaser tells us that their launch date will be held on April 6th and show that polycarbonate may have been ditched in favour of an alloy chassis. The choice to move to metal is generally a welcome one, but in Meizu’s case it blurs the Meizu range a little and makes phone choice a little confusing after all isn’t the Meizu Metal meant to be the be an up class Meilan phone?
Gizchina News of the week
In other leaks we have learned the Meizu M3 Note will come with an 8-core Mediatek MT6755M chipset (a Helio P10 with Mali T860 GPU), a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 5 mega-pixel front camera, 13 mega-pixel rear and options for either 2GB + 16GB memory or 3GB + 32GB memory.
Last but not least the M3 Note is expected to have a fingerprint scanner home button, larger 3500mAh battery and a still get a thinner body than previous phones.
In addition to the M3 Note, Meizu are also expected to launch a Meizu Pro 6 phone in the coming month too.
Who knows if it even comes out at this point. All we have heard about is the Pro 6. Maybe they are scrapping the MX line completely and will have multiple versions of the Pro 6. After using the MX5 for 8 months I would serious consider the next Meizu flagship, especially after the Mi5 let me down.
First it is ugly, those black borders on the display make it look so cheap to me. To me the design looks like a poor knockoff of a Samsung phone. Second the camera is a huge letdown, usually Xiaomi flagships are known for having one of the best cameras among flagships. The Mi5’s is good but nowhere near that of the Galaxy S7, LG G5 and others. Third is LTE bands, more and more Chinese brands are starting to adopt global LTE bands in their flagship models, there really is no reason Xiaomi (one of the biggest in the industry) can’t include those bands. Finally the battery, my friend’s Mi5 barely makes it through a work day before needing a charge.
Compared to how I felt about the Mi3 and Mi4 this one is a huge letdown.
P10 should be more than enough. The day they start supporting LTE 800Mhz I would happily buy this…
Why? Are you actually aware that the P10 is absolutely sufficient for games and day to day performance? It is basically on par with Huawei’s Kirin 930 found in the P8 and that handles every task with ease, and is 20-25% faster than the SD615, so I say that’s a great chip for a mid-range device.
how to post thumbs up emoticon to your comment , @tkstevefox:disqus ?
it might be sufficient for you mate, but for me without SD820, “keep it yourself”, ask me why? because I’m a smart phone gamer, I need to run the game in 60fps and have to record this game 60fps, without SD820 it can’t be possible, and heating issue is a fact
Well, there is plenty of price difference there, the P10 is a very reliable chip at 1080p. If you want to pay 450$ and above for an SD820 device, be my guest.
