Meizu announced alongside their new budget m3 note the EP51 earphones, targeted at sports users.
Meizu have a long history of producing audio equipment, so you can rest assured about the sound quality of these buds, I’d assume.
The EP51’s work over Bluetooth, which means they are completely wireless. At a mere 15.3 grams, the EP51’s are fairly lightweight as well.
The buds feature a nano coating that makes the buds sweat- and waterproof. The metal used to build these earphones is reportedly ‘aircraft-grade’ aluminium… for whatever it means.
Gizchina News of the week
As for the specs, the earphones use Bluetooth 4.0, have an impedance of 16Ω, sensitivity of 88dB, with a maximum power output of 10mW.
That said, the Meizu EP51 aren’t the most affordable Bluetooth earphones around. At 269 Yuan or $42, the EP51’s aren’t dirt cheap. That said, Meizu’s record with everything that’s not made to be cheap is pretty good, so these buds may well be worth a try.
They were also claiming that the cables are kevlar.
Battery life wise, 6h playback, 40h standby.

Always been here, reading blog posts quietly, I had nothing to say honestly.
This month has been very slow speaking of the magic of China.
Been waiting to hear of new flagships, but still nothing.
I’m waiting to hear about a Drone from Xiaomi and still nothing.
I’m looking forward to hear about a pair of Bluetooth headset and finally Meizu made them.
Hopefully the next coming months will be more prolific to catch my interest.
Yea this month has been kind of slow. But we have P9, Pro 6, One Plus 3, Nubia Z11 and more all coming in the next few months so it should start to pick up again.
P9 and Pro6 are going to cost more than what I’m willing to pay.
I’m waiting for OP3,Nubia and LETV impatiently.
Ohhh, a regular MX6 would also be great.
I think the regular MX6 is going to be the Pro 6. I think they will have just one flagship line, Pro 6 but have multiple versions (like Huawei and Nubia does).
Well, if they keep the price around 1799 yuan then I’m interested
It’s gonna be interesting to see what they do. With the announcement by Meizu themselves that they are not using Exnyos, that leaves very little in terms of differentiation between an MX6 and Pro 6. It almost seems like there is no way they could release an MX6 or a Metal 2 without cannibalizing other phones. But then again this is the same company that just released an MX5E which has nearly the exact same specs as the Metal…
I used to be good to predict stuff but not anymore… Lol
The problem is these companies are becoming unpredictable and often times they will do things that make no sense.
i was interested till i read ” aren’t dirt cheap”
it put me off -_- !!
Been waiting for this stuff. Waiting for a review and then buy them
Sensai where have you been?
