EleCam 360 plans to bring VR video recording on a budget

360 video, or VR video, is becoming more mainstream and Chinese brands have been early to jump on board, but it is surprising to see Elephone in the mix.

Late last year Elephone released their Ele Explorer action camera. The device was similar in design to a GoPro and offered simple features and 4K video to budget action videographers. The action cam market wasn’t a one off for the tech company though with the Explorer Pro launching this year (our sample has already arrived, and now word of another model.

The new Elephone camera will be named the EleCam 360 and like some other new camera products will feature not 1 but 2 lens which together can record a video sphere.

According to the specs the EleCam 360 will have dual lenses, with F2.0 apertures, that will record video that is then stitched together. The camera has WIFI for moving content and control via app, Sony IMX117 sensors and will support 4K video.

So far Elephone only have a render of the product, so were not sure what the time to market ETA is going to be like.
