ZUK will launch their new flagship phone very soon and the company have been making a few teasers about the design and what features it may have.
The original ZUK Z1 was a pretty decent package, but was let down by the awkward placement of the physical home button (not to mention buggy OS), so surely this has been solved for the ZUK Z1?
Well we don’t know about the physical button , or even if it will have one, but we do know the new phone will have a similar curved metal chassis to the Z1 only with a 2.5D curved display.
Company bosses have gone a little further to say that the design is similar to the iPhone and that the finished product will be well worth the wait. Our take on of this is that build quality has been improved this time around to give a more solid feel to the phone, and perhaps we will see a slightly thinner design too.

Another teaser has also indicated that the ZUK Z2 will be loaded with its own health apps for monitoring various sports. The screen shot shows the app will work with walking, running and cycling, plus it can save heart rate information. This might also be a hint that a ZUK branded wearable might be on the cards too.
The screen shot also shows that the ZUK Z2 Pro will have space for dual SIM cards too.
The Z2 Pro is expected to launch with a Snapdragon 820 chipset, at least 4GB RAM, from 64GB memory, dual LED flash, laster auto-focus and a large battery.
I hope the zuk series will focus less on design and more on power house specs and large battery at more affordable prices. Please don’t have it be thinner.
Agree. Hopefully it will have 4000mah+ battery again.
They say it’s an iphone and you can see it in the pic. Large footprint with big upper and lower bezels and thin. This ferocious need to copy even the dumbest things Apple does is hilarious. Tomorrow LeEco will tell us how no 3.5mm audio jack is cool. They don’t seem capable of realizing that if Apple does it, they do it to rob the customer blind and extort a few more $, not because it is the right thing to do.
Lets make sh1tty devices because Apple does it !!!
“They don’t seem capable of realizing that if Apple does it, they do it to rob the customer blind and extort a few more $,”
What disturbs me more is; that’s exactly what they realize and the game plan as well…
LeEco doesn’t aim to make money with the hardware, they sell their services and there is no upside if they cripple their devices on purpose like this. They should let the customer enjoy great devices and great content, not make their lives harder.
Coupled with Android software 6.0 that is not buggy and will have updates for along time ?
I would actually buy it if they could shave at least another mm off the Z1 and get it under 8mm. The Z1 was just too thick for me.
haha how is that a positive? Sometimes it feels like the China phone makers have no free will, they adopt the party line and the party in this case is the iphone.
The design in the picture looks nothing like an iPhone so maybe they mean the software will feel like iOS.
But I would say this entire industry has no free will, it’s not limited just to China. Korea, Taiwan, Japan and the US do just as much copying and stealing ideas as China does. Apple is probably the worst offender of them all, it just doesn’t get talked about in the press.
The picture doesn’t really look much like an iPhone.
And no, they don’t just adopt the party line. The simple fact is that the iPhone is the most prolific smartphone in the world. Comparing your name to such an established competitors is bound to catch everyone’s attention.
While I can’t deny it’s true some of them do follow the line and just copy the iPhone, that’s false for a large majority of devices.
