After we posted a report about how MIUI 8 could launch with the Mi Max early next month hours back, Xiaomi have revealed the launch dates for both products, MIUI 8 and Mi Max.
It turns out that the launch will indeed take place on the 10th of May, so there’s only a couple of weeks to go before we get to see yet another Xiaomi phone this year.
Gizchina News of the week
The Mi Max is going to be Xiaomi’s first full-blown phablet (after 5.5-inch screens turned mainstream). It is expected to have a 6.4-inch 1920 x 1080p display, while the other internals seem to be in common with the Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon 650 version. This includes the processor, 2GB of RAM, 16 mega-pixel rear camera and a 5 mega-pixel front facing camera.
MIUI 8, on the other hand, is a surprise launch. Xiaomi usually give their MIUI iterations a year or so, but this time the tenure has been cut short.
MIUI 8 will be based on Android 6.0.1, and the Mi Max is expected to feature the software out of the box.
Xiaomi is also giving its ‘Mi Fans’ an opportunity to be at the launch event. Head over to the MIUI forums if you fancy a shy at it.
THANK GOD MIUI 8 is coming so early, please be as good as V5. MIUI 6 and 7 paired with android 5 where pure ram eating monsters
Lollipop itself was a ram eating monster, one of the worst releases from Google in Androids history.
Well there is ebay and you can also send the phones back so i dont think you need to have a million dollars to change phones every month or so
tldr ; ur rich.
im yet to own a ‘smartphone’ :p
and I just ordered the new Mitv 3S
I was like what to get for a new tv and then just ordered 48 inch 3S and 65 inch curved tv. One for the living room and one for the bedroom
review when u get to use it ?
Also , where are u from ? i ask because i want to know if IMPORTING a TV is a hassle ?
Yes i can if you want. I live in Switzerland and here the customs are not so bad, as long as you put value under USD 60 you dont have to pay tax
I’m not sure you can quite do that with a 65″ TV! I rarely pay tax on any phone/tablet I buy (and there’s been lots of them), but such a large item will definitely get there attention and will obviously be more expensive than $60. I would also like to know how you get on as I’ve toyed with the idea myself.
Well the thing is DHL has its on tax system here, When I bought 60 inch Mi TV 3 back in the day, seller wrote 150 USD value. DHL sent me a bill of 170 USD for tax and “bill fees”. As DHL always tries to rip people of I wrote them Im not paying the fee as DHL is not allowed to fine me so much, then I sent the an Invoice from the seller of 50USD, and they dropped the bill. Its easy to avoid tax as long as you know how.
Stop showing off mate… you hurt me. I just updated my galaxy s2 to CM 13.. 😛 😛
Yep, I had to wait for 5.1.1 to get rid of those issues, but even some 5.1.1 didn’t got some specific ram leaks fixed. Marshmallow otherwise was a fixed Lollipop variant, personally this was meant to be Android 5.2, but only my personal opinion.
Another REDMI under disguise of a flagship.
Large screen alone won’t be enough to justify the flagship pricing.
