Wait is over, Ulefone has just announced that the presale for their bezel-less Ulefone Future model is going to start May 4th. It’s going to run until May 25th and as usual the price will be gradually rising.
So next wednesday you will have the chance to get Ulefone Future for just 199.99$ which is 70$ less than the original retail price. The promo will be just for the day and you would need to be fast and furious, because it’s limited to only 2000 pieces.
Starting May 5th the price will rise to 239.99$, but at least no quantity limitations anymore. And at the end of the presale period on May 25th the price is going to level with the official retail one so better think twice. You can find all the official info about the presale here.
Gizchina News of the week
And the usual recap of the Ulefone Future specs for the forgetful – 5.5-inch FullHD display, octa-core Helio P10 clocked at 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB of storage, 16 MPix main camera, 3000 mAh battery capacity with fast charge support, USB Type-C port, fingeprint scanner located on the side edge and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
And one more video, because moving pictures are always the best for getting an idea about the phone.
If you have every bought Ulefone product, you’ll know the price will never exceed USD239.99. often the presale price is the final price. And some months later, you can buy it cheaper when the costs for chipset goes down.
If you can ignore 4GB RAM, there 1600MP camera. There are no border of the screen.
Same thing happened with Power: they said the actual price would have been 219$, but after a couple of weeks it capped at 159 and now that’s the usual price you see around…
No, I was aware right from the start of corner cuts, even before the phone came out ?
Mostly it’s a marketing tactic: they say something like “the phone costs 300$, but you can have a big 100$ discount for pre-sell”… Then they rise the price to original 300$ once the phone comes out, to gain the bigger profit from second-hour buyers (usually the ones waiting for stocks and reviews before buying). Then they start a short period of “special offers”, gradually lowering the price saying it’s a limited thing. And, a month or so later, the phone is back to pre-sale original price…
It’s all a tactic to gain the bigger profit surfing the hype wave, but in the end they can’t do it for long due to competition, so ulefone is putting all the attention on the pre-sale price cut (you know, trying to bring people to think “hey, I must hurry in order to get the lower price possible!”)
What they really want to sell it for is USD179.99, but as UMI, Vernee, and oukitel begin to apply crazy low price, ulefone is forced to do the same. That’s how high-quality brands like Zoppo and THL have been forced out of this market. Ulefone is smart to go in the mid to avoid being killed either by low prices from competitors nor bad comments from users. In this sense, Ulefone is the most trust-worthy brand among small brands.
Very good !
man you must be an economist ! cos that is a really clever marketing tactic ! never looked at it that way , if this is true , then woe unto ulefone for being FRAUDSTERS YET AGAIN !
damn , these imbeciles NEVER EVER learn , do they ?
are you Kidding? ulefone Power beginning price is 199.9, and 159.99 is the price you say four months later, not what you call a few weeks later.
Fingers crossed. Waiting for reviews.
and for the million DWOLLA question … :
”
is good ?
“
Uses same Samsung 16mp as the Xiaomi Note 3 Pro, which should have been good but has disappointed some, especially for low light and video. The Panasonic they used in the Vienna might have been a better choice. Trouble with pre-sales is you don’t get the chance to wait and see.
yeah … i was all taken aback by the panasonic sensor , had never seen one before on any phone (prolly cos im still new to the market ,relatively)
BUT i heard the mods here say that the Power was a phone with a relatively disappointing camera
what went wrong in the RN3 pro’s sensor ?
Chris.S likes the Vienna, he has some samples and outdoors looks great, sharp across the frame with good detail. Indoors with flash has issues, way too bright, but probably fixable.
The RN3 does appear to suck at night and video. Looks like Samsung have focused on producing a compact sensor design with small 1.0μm pixels rather than trad. 1.12μm pixels and this has possibly compromised quality. Some daylight shots look really good, but as you know once people get a smartphone they love to walk around in the dark taking photos and complaining 😉
Perhaps Ulefone can pull something out of the bag. Vernee Apollo will also use this sensor.

hahah !!!
damn , i thought Vernee knew better ! they should have gone for OV (fan favorite , right ?)
any idea why samsung cut corners with their sensors ? i thought they made some good ones !
It allowed them to reduce the module size down below 5mm depth. They aimed to do it without loss over previous larger unit, but then I don’t know how good that one was.
Yep the 16MP OV is still the daddy for me. Shame the larger one from the Elife E8 hasn’t broken out either.
The only other phone I know that possibly uses the same Panasonic sensor is the Asus Zoom. Now Oukitel claimed in their blurb tha they had previous experience optimising this sensor so there is the possibility of a connection between Ulefone and the Asus Zenfone Zoom, possible OEM?
and what about cyanogenmod? It was a selling point to me, but we got nothing here about it. @Karel, do you guys know something?
